I have always been infatuated with the South. I love the food, the weather, and the people!  I am convinced I was a Southern Belle in my past life. One of my favorite Southern meals is Shrimp with Cheese Grits! It’s absolutely delicious and extremely easy to make! Heres what you’ll need:

  • 2 servings cooked grits
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 20 medium to large shrimp, peeled and de-veined, with tails on
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Mrs. Dash’s extra spicy seasoning
  • 1 cup of shredded Colby jack cheese

Cook grits according to package directions; set aside, keep warm

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Season shrimp with Mrs. Dash and garlic. Add shrimp and saute for 3-4 minutes on each side. Separate grits and cheese into two bowls. Pile Shrimp on top. Grab a spoon and enjoy! This dish is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or as an appetizer!
