This Thanksgiving I had the luxury of attending my family dinner without preparing any of the staple items. But I couldn’t and wouldn’t show up empty-handed! I decided to make a fun and easy statement apple pie! Topped with beautiful hearts and filled with a taste of cognac, this pie was certainly the talk of the holiday.

Here’s what you’ll need

  • 1 Frozen Pie Crust
  • 2 Sheets of Pillsbury Pie Crust
  • 2 Cans of Comstock Apple Pie Filling
  • 2 Teaspoons of Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon of Nutmeg
  • 1/2 Cup of Cognac
  • 1 Large Egg White
  • 1/4 Cup Melted Butter
  • Heart Shaped Cookie Cutter

Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. Combine pie filling, nutmeg, cognac, and cinnamon in a medium-sized saucepan for 5-7 minutes. Pour mixture into pie crust and set aside. Rollout the sheets of pie crust and cut out your hearts. Place cut-outs on top of your pie in any direction you’d like. Brush with melted butter and bake for 40-45 minutes!
