Last night my imaginary Southern roots came alive! This super simple and beautiful pasta  tastes amazing!

Garlic Shrimp and Andouille Sausage Pasta

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb andouille sausage, cut into 1/4″ slices
  • 1/4 cup diced fresh garlic
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Mrs. Dash’s Extra Spicy Seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups penne pasta, cooked

Alfredo Sauce:

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Brown Andouille sausage well over med-high heat in large saute pan with 2 Tbsp olive oil. Add garlic, green onions,  cayenne pepper. Saute for 5 minutes. Add shrimp and saute for 1 minute.  Melt butter in a medium saucepan over medium low heat. Add cream and simmer for 5 minutes, then add garlic and cheese and whisk quickly, heating through. Combine shrimp and sausage mixture, toss in penne noodles throughly. Top with remaining parmesan cheese and serve!
