Fried Chicken

I have read everywhere that pregnant women CRAVE Pickles. I am waiting for the day I absolutely have to have one. Early on in my pregnancy I craved Cheese Fries and Ice Cream. I know, strange combination. Lately, I’ve shifted to only wanting Watermelon and Fried Chicken. How southern of me :)! I’m a firm believer that anyone can make perfect fried chicken! All you need is the right seasonings and a little bit of practice!

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 1 lb Chicken (I used sections, or wing dings)
  • 1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Tone’s Cajun Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 3 cups Vegetable Oil

Chicken in flour coating

In a bowl, combine chicken and seasonings, except garlic salt. Pour flour on to a plate. (Have another plate or bowl handy for coated chicken). Coat each piece of chicken in flour and set aside.

In a large skillet, on high, heat vegetable oil. Once your oil is hot, drop each piece of chicken into the oil. Let fry until golden brown. (Usually 15-20 minutes). Remove from oil, sprinkle with garlic salt.
