Fried chicken is one of my many guilty pleasures. Combine it with a fluffy waffle and spicy syrup and I’m hooked!
Here’s what you’ll need:
•2 cups all-purpose flour
•3/4 cup sugar
•3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
•2 eggs, separated
•1 1/2 cups milk
•1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
•1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
•1 teaspoon cinnamon
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and baking powder. In another bowl, beat egg whites until stiff peaks form.
In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks and then add milk, butter, and vanilla, mixing well. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Fold egg whites into batter.
Ladle batter in a pre-heated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s instructions, until golden brown.
•Boneless Skinless Chicken Breast, thinly fileted
•1 teaspoon Lawry’s Seasoned Salt
•1 teaspoon paprika
•1 teaspoon black pepper
•1 teaspoon garlic powder
•1 cup flour
Sprinkle seasonings over chicken. Coat in flour. Fry in medium saucepan over medium-high heat until crisp golden brown (6-8 minutes)
•2 cups Maple Syrup
•1 teaspoon honey
•1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
•1 tablespoon Tabasco sauce (can be substituted for any hot sauce you’d prefer)
Combine ingredients in a bowl and drizzle over waffles topped with chicken.
