Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Posted on August 3, 2015

Hi friends! If you follow me via Instagram (@MeetTheWoods) or Twitter (XoLaurenWoods) you know that I and 7 1/2 months pregnant! We are over the moon excited for our new addition coming this October! Of course with pregnancies, come pregnancy cravings! My number one craving to date is French fries! I could have them day or night! With ketchup or plain! From anywhere! Obsessed! I decided a couple days ago to switch it up to sweet potato fries. I’ve never made them before, so I scoured the Internet for recipes. I came across Ms. Paula Deen’s recipe. I tried it out and failed, miserably. They came out soggy and flavorless. Staring at the left over sweet potatoes in my refrigerator, I decided to give…

Social Mommy| Pool Day Must Haves

I can not put into words how excited I am that Chandler LOVES the water! I have been swimming since I was 18 months old and I’ve even swam on teams. I try to keep our pool bag ready at all times, so that we are ready even with the smallest amount of notice! We stock it with toys, towels, floatation devices, swim trunks, sunscreen, bottled water, Chapstick, and snacks. So far Swim School’s line of floatation vests and trainers have been our favorite. Chandler seems most comfortable in this vest and I like that the harness strap snaps underneath him for extra water safety. We purchased ours from Wal-Mart for around $20. DON’T FORGET THE SUNSCREEN! Babies have such precious skin that needs…

Posted on June 13, 2014

Chandler is picky (he has it honest) and as he’s approaching 8 months I decided to share some of his absolute favorites with you all! 1. He can’t get enough of Sassy brand toys! We keep one attached to his car seat for on the road playtime, one in the diaper bag, one at his GrandMommy’s house, and tons in his bedroom. This particular one has become his go-to. Luckily Target had them on sale so he now has two! 2. Chandler has been exclusively breastfed and nursed exclusively. I was very interested in how he would handle solid foods. We introduced rice cereal mixed with breast milk when he was 5 months old and gradually increased his solid food intake. Now he enjoys…

Bundles| Nursery Ideas

With just a few months left before my son’s arrival, the clock is definitely ticking for his father and I to get his nursery ready. I have spent countless hours on Pinterest and Google, searching for ideas. I know for sure that I want it to be chic, fun, and whimsical. I don’t particularly care for characters or animals. Here are a few of my favorite nurseries. Mommies: where did you draw inspiration for your nurseries? And do you all have any unique ideas I can incorporate into my son’s nursery? This Blue Chevron Nursery is absolutely breathtaking! I love the nautical touches. What I love most about this nursery is its lightness, its fun and inviting! Also the combination of mint and teal…

One the most exciting moments, so far, in my pregnancy was feeling my son kick for the first time. Every worry, problem, and fear suddenly melted away. It was just him and I. An immediate bond had been formed. I remember thinking, “I’m doing this, I’m going to be someones mom”! Not only am I going to be someones mom, I’m going to be the best mom on the planet! I’m curious to know how other moms felt the first time they felt a kick. Lets chat ladies! Comment below!
